Human remains
These are human remains excavated during the excavation on the north side stonework of the fourth ward of the Katsuren Castle site.
It is the skull of a woman in the Gusuku Period (around 11-15th century), and her age is estimated to be 30s due to the degree of tooth wear.
According to the result of the analysis, she was presumed to be short lady, 143 centimeters tall.
In the Katsuren Castle ruins, human remains were also excavated from the third ward and the eastern ward, which are important materials for considering customs for the dead in the Ryukyu Islands.
