Yuan-style blue
Genyoshiki Seika (Yuan-style blue and white jar) was created during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) in China, and was treated as a luxury item from that time on.
The number of examples excavated from ruins in Okinawa is larger than that in the rest of Japan, suggesting that the Ryukyu Kingdom flourished as a base for transit trade with other Asian countries.
Since many high-quality items have been excavated from the first ward at the Katsuren Castle site, it is presumed that the first ward was a treasure house.
